Well Placed Cactus

Well Placed Cactus spans all over the eastern coast of Australia, coming together to develop cool interactive stuff with new tech. Our team works together to create awesome games, apps and interactive installations for our clients, with a focus on creativity and collaboration. But just like our past 3 years attending the 48hr Game Challenge, our only aim for the weekend is to have lots of fun (and to drink lots of coffee).

Natural Alpha

Until recently, the only way to experience electronic entertainment was at your local arcade or amusement park. Natural Alpha intends to use innovative “microcomputer” technology to bring these “video games” right into your home!

Team Stallion is a group of Griffith University Alumni, when we come together we form the mighty silver stallion and gallop towards our goal of defying the impossible.

Nocturne

Nocturne is an Independent Game Production Company, formed out of the bonds from the previous 48 Hour Challenge. They plan to bring everything they have in order to overcome this trial. Utilising the perfect trio of Designer, Artist and Programmer, Nocturne is ready the take on all opponents.

Team Avert is back with a vengeance, a new website, and a few more Bachelor Degrees. We will be active on social media with constant updates on this year’s 48 hour challenge, so keep updated!

After some time away from games Tiny Frame is back again to rock the 48hr jam. Bringing together the artistic talents of Grant, the program wizardry of Charlie and the music jams of James this dream team plan on having fun and creating something unique.

Fluffy Knuckleduster is an Australian indie mobile games company, specialising in creating the most fun, silly and hilarious games possible! They subsist almost entirely on bacon and eggs, as well as the tears of frustration people cry when failing to get a high score.

The Roll Players

We the Roll Players are a bunch of smelly, Doritos’s eating, Coca Cola drinking, D&D playing Nerds with a capital ‘N’. We also make video games, so we’ll fit right in!

The D-Team

The D-Team is a collection of 5 Griffith University students in their 2nd year, excited to make games and lose some sleep! This is their first time competing in the 48 Hour Game Making Challenge and they all have a passion for games from a diverse range of genres.

Lucky Dip is back again, with yet another member switch-a-roo! The core team of monkeys and bakers is still here, but we now come equipped with a third artist to really ramp up the game. Let’s hope he’s a crazy as the rest of us!

Pleb Games

Pleb Games is a motley team of game developers who are keen to get their hands deep and dirty into Brisbane’s game making community. As a team we’re eager to make the most of our first game jam experience!

Matchbox Battery

Matchbox Battery has participated for the past 4 years, with last year being our first wins (Indie Winner and Best Audio), and are wishing to return to defend our title.

We are made up of past QUT and UQ students, with our producer traveling up from Melbourne once again.

We are OrAshleigLAtRiamOny, a horrifying amalgamation of students from Griffith University. Some of us participated in last year’s 48 Hour Challenge, the others are newbies we’ve absorbed.

Rockin’ Legacy

Rockin’ Legacy is a long running team who have competed since being Rockin Moses back in 2011 when we won the competition.

We return this year to RECLAIM OUR TITLE FROM MATCHBOX BATTERY. REPRESENT.

Our team comprises of a number of students studying game development at Griffith on the Gold Coast. We’ve come together with the help of the IGDA GC chapter to represent Gold Coast developers
